Botox injections are a very quick, simple, and painless procedure that can take years off your appearance. Fine facial lines and wrinkles can develop on our forehead, glabella (the area between the eyebrows) and crow’s feet over time as a result of making the same expression over and over. When used as an aesthetic treatment you will notice the gradual softening of lines in the affected area and results typically last 3-5 months. Botox blocks the nerve impulses and temporarily relaxes the muscles that cause wrinkles while giving the skin a smoother, more refreshed appearance. While every patient is unique, most people begin to notice the effects of Botox within 1-10 days.

No anesthesia is needed but we encourage our patients to ice the area to be treated moments prior to the injection to ensure that the treatment is pain-free. Patients can return to their normal activities immediately following their treatment, however; we do not recommend exercising or lifting 24 hours after Botox injections to ensure that the product does not migrate. Patients that take prescription blood thinners or Fish Oil, Vitamin E, or Aspirin on a regular basis may experience mild bruising which can quickly be resolved by applying Auriderm cream to the affected areas.

  1. How long will it take to notice the results? The treatment takes three to eight days to take full effect. Typically you will begin to see noticeable improvements within 3-8 days. The results can continue to improve up to 30 days
  2. How long will the results last? Most patients can expect their results to last between 3-5 months. However, results will vary based on the severity of the lines being treated.
  3. Does Botox hurt? Botox is administered using tiny, ultra-fine needles. The pain is very minimal and goes away very quickly.
  4. What happens when Botox begins wears off? Lines and wrinkles will begin to reappear over time. To maintain smoothness, you will need 3-4 rounds of Botox per year.
  5. Will Botox give me an unnatural look? No, Botox relaxes the muscles in the face and creates a more relaxed appearance, and your facial expression will remain. Pulling the skin through plastic surgery is what leaves a natural look.

Problem Areas that can be helped with Botox

Moderate to Severe Frown Lines- When you frown or concentrate, the muscles between your brows contract, causing your skin to furrow and fold. Your specialist will inject these muscles to help make frown lines temporarily look better.

Moderate to Severe Crow's Feet- When you squint or smile, the muscles around your eyes contract, causing crow’s feet. Your specialist will inject these muscles to help make crow’s feet temporarily look better.

Moderate to Severe Forehead Lines- When you raise your eyebrows, the muscles on your forehead contract, causing the skin to furrow and fold. Your specialist will inject these muscles to help make forehead lines temporarily look better.

Look well. Feel well. Be well.
